In the Swinging Sixties, the Beatles sang, "All you need is love." By the year 2021, director Kunal Deshmukh hasn't changed his mind about his films on love and relationships. As a result, Shiddat! The Disney+Hotstar film, which stars Radhika Madan as Kartika Negi, Sunny Kaushal as Jaggi Sehgal, Mohit Raina as Gautam Kapoor, and Diana Penty as Ira Sharma, is yet another example of how, while times have changed, love stories in Hindi cinema have not.
Shiddat, on the other hand, is not bad. Yes, it's a very long attempt to portray the same old Yash Raj-themed love story, but it's worth a look for those searching for some light fun. There is comedy, romance, many forced emotional situations, and grief in this fairly presented film, but one can sit down and watch it.
